Polzerová Eva

activities Interview
Dance Pedagogue; Motion Cooperation (* 28. 6. 1946)

Since childhood, she has been involved in ballet and piano, but after graduating from eleven years of school, she was unable to continue her studies at the Faculty of Education as she wished due to the difficult financial situation in her family. She started working as a worker in a power plant, but soon was offered a job in the Ostrava scientific library. She graduated from a library extension course and at the same time began to take up mime in the Ostrava Mime Troupe at the Petr Bezruč Theatre. Soon she became the director of the Cultural Centre in Klimkovice and began teaching dance and drama education.

She studied dance pedagogy at the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (AMU) in Prague and educational drama at the Theatre Faculty of AMU. She was a long-time leader of the children's theatre ensemble Klobouček, worked at the Poklad Cultural House in Ostrava-Poruba, taught at the Janáček Conservatory, the University of Ostrava, and still works at the Folk School in Ostrava.

Oral history of the Czech theatre

This project was launched in 2015 and seeks to capture the memories of important figures in the field of Czech theatre in audio recordings (usually around four hours long) and, in most cases, also in a short video recording (10–20 minutes long). The recordings are followed by a report of the conversation, which offers a summary of discussed topics and personalities, after every 15-20 minutes. Photographs and personal documents (both in digital format), provided by the narrator, are also available.

The Oral History Module provides a list of figures who have recorded their memories, along with a brief profile, current photograph, and the interview protocol. Full recording, including all the additional materials, is supposed to be studied by registered researchers in the Information and Documentation Department of ATI only. Feel free to contact Lucie Čepcová: lucie.cepcova(at)idu.cz if you are interested.
